 Is The Current Education System Still Relevant?

Education is one of the most important issue that need to be improve further to escalate one's future. Nowadays, there were so many degree holder that were jobless since some company does not need more worker as the technology come in handy. Due to this issue, there are certain students who finish their SPM doesn't want to further their studies. In my opinion, the education system is great but it can be go further. The system that they used now was outdated and many youngsters started to get bored. There were few challenges faced by the education system nowadays. For example, we lack of innovative teaching method. This means we still use the old-fashioned way to conduct lesson. Students in high school are forced to memorize and study the subjects in order to pass the examination. This issue leads student to stop further their studies after high school.

Future Vision

In future, I'm hoping that our education system will be recognized as one of the best system in the world. Education system would be using the technology such as the artificial robots to conduct the lesson or any experiments. The students would be more interested to study. School would use an AI to demonstrate or to visualize it more clearly. Not just that, learning environment would be improved as well. The students could choose whether to attend physical or online class. Since online platform can provide a lot of information that can be used for study purposes. The education system mostly focusing more about the students' interest. Meaning the education would not be focus mainly examination based. There would be more towards hand on practice or practicals. 

Solutions, Implementations and Challenges

The vision that are stated above can be accomplished if we can make changes to current education system. Firstly, usage of artificial intelligence in education would be advantage for teachers or schools since it will make it easier for teaching purposes. The AI could use in demonstration purposes to ensure students can understand specific topics easily. For example, in Biology class, the teachers can show the the process of an complex substances in a virtual images. By doing so, students are able to know the steps clearly and hence they would understand certain complex things easily. In order to reach this vision, the current system of education could add in programming subjects in high school so that students could learn basic programming and be able to master it. Hence, once they enter university, they can handle more complex structure of programming. There also challenges faced to change the education system. Programming subject would be advantage to some students. This is due to some students would be facing hard time since programming subject is not an easy subject. Not only that, some students could not afford to buy a laptop or computer.

 Furthermore, due to COVID-19, we already been introduced to online based learning. Even though some students faced difficulties at first, somehow most of them can get over with it. This issue would be an advantage for the students who are studying far away from their hometown or abroad. If all the schools in the world are using the online based learning, no matter which country that the students lived in, they can join in the class through online. By doing so, we could exchange information or learn other culture from many countries. Unfortunately, doing online based learning need a good internet connection to make sure the class go smoothly. Some students that lived in rural area usually cannot get a good internet connection therefore the could not join the class. To ensure we could reach this vision, engineers or programmers to improve the connection to ensure rural area places can also get a good internet connection.

Lastly, the current system could change the way to examine all the students in different ways. This is because certain students that are good in arts, they would probably not good in science or mathematics. This can be obtained by changing the current curriculum into skill-based activity. This is to emphasize skills such as critical thinking skills, creativity and problem-solving. The limitations of this is the teacher had been taught the way to teach in an old-fashioned way. To overcome this issue, providing a program for teachers to improve they way they teach.

Reflection

After doing some research about this issue, I feel that our education system can go further in future and getting better. The steps that are been discussed earlier could improve the current education system. The steps above have the potential to improve students to become a better version of themselves.
